The Koroneiki variety of Olive is produced from trees that are native to Greece. It has short and narrow elliptical shaped leaves that will start producing oil two to three years after planting.
Our location in Messologhi is ideally suited to this variety of tree as it is hot and very humid. The olives are small and oval and about 12 to 15 millimetres in length. They mature from early October to the beginning of January.
We collect the fruit before they reach full maturity. The amount of oil produced this way is less but is of exceptional quality and taste. Its acidity is low, but high in polyphenols, the antioxidants that help our body stay healthy.
